Doug Soltis, PhD

Doug Soltis is the co-coordinator of the Genetics & Genomics doctoral program and a distinguished professor Florida Museum of Natural History, and department of biology. Soltis works with student recruiting, as well as incoming and current students, guiding them from the application process and through the doctoral program.

Soltis received his MS and PhD in plant biology from Indiana University. His research interests include using DNA approaches to elucidate the origin of flowering plants, building the tree of all life and understanding evolutionary mechanisms, particularly genome doubling.
